After our Project Patagonia project, Tanner and I headed off to Chile for a few days in a rented car.  It was a great trip. I'll go ahead and share this trip through photos as well. You can click any photo to blow it up. Enjoy!

It was cloudy and foggy for the first couple of days unfortunately, but we got some good scenery and had a great time nonetheless

Tanner has an awful habit of being captured like this in pictures. We played backgammon here and there and if my memory serves me correctly we broke even in wins and losses.

Going through the lower Andes, we were surprised at how much construction was going on. These guys were blocking the road at one point.

An old Spanish colonial naval fortress. Notice the cannons and lighthouse.

There are a variety of micro-breweries in southern Chile, compliments of German immigrant influence.

There were lots of cattle along many roads. I had to yell at this cow quite aggressively to get his attention.

            Monster kelp!

Tanner uses his kelp as a jump rope.

And we thought we were done with dirt roads.

Chile has a strong fishing industry, and its delicious!

Our car was broken into one night, unfortunately. We enjoyed the rest of the trip with our plastig bag window.

We climbed an active volcano in Pucón, Chile. It was quite a work out!
            Picture
The last eruption from this volcano was in the 1970s.

We went back along La Ruta de Siete Lagos (The Seven Lakes Route). It was beautiful!
